| 1890 Intimidator now more compact Bandit's high capacity drum style Model 1890 hand fed chipper is now more compact which makes it easier to maneuver, especially in tight areas. The machine now measures 15' 11" in length compared to the old length of 17' 2". This new and compact frame is shorter, looks better and is positioned under the infeed hopper for more support with tanks set on the frame instead of on the fender. This chipper features an infeed opening of 20" x 24". This feature, coupled with Bandit's proven feed system enables the Intimidator to process extremely limby material, thus reducing the need to trim. Disposing of and recycling unwanted tree waste from trimmings and removals is a breeze with the 1890. This machine is fast, easy to operate, easy to feed, provides dependable service with minimal maintenance and allows you to convert as much material to a marketable chip as possible at the point of take down. The Intimidator, appropriately named, was built with the force required to chip large diameter materials and was specifically designed for those contractors and governmental agencies who frequently encounter full tree removals and light land clearing. Equipped with a sloping infeed, this unit gives the operator the ability to slide heavy material to the feed wheels, making it easy to guide multiple pieces of brush into the feed system. Another plus of this machine is that the feed wheels are reversible. If a piece of material gets hung up in the feed system or is too large for the chipper opening, the operator can reverse the feed system and then either reposition or remove the obstruction. There is virtually no limit to the length of material that can be chipped. This unit will definitely lower dumping costs as well as the amount of material needed to be hauled away. This comes at an opportune time because of rising landfill costs and diminishing markets for chunk wood. This machine will not only save your company money in the long run but will also convert unwanted wood into dimensional, salable chips. Interested parties have two Intimidator versions to choose from. The standard unit is available with a variety of engine options up to 140 horsepower and features a feed wheel system that includes two 10 5/8" diameter, 20" long feed wheels powered by 63.9 cubic inch motors that develop 23, 000 pounds of torque. The heavy-duty version offers power options to 200 horsepower and features heavier components and a much stronger, more powerful feed system with a 15 3/4" diameter top feed wheel. Both versions are powered by 63 cubic inch hydraulic motors that develop 23, 000 inch pounds of torque. The 1890 is available as a self-propelled machine as well. This unit allows you to take the chipper to the tree to iliminate the need to forward material. A simple backhoe loader is available for towable units which easily feeds large and heavy material into the chipper. write your comments about the article :: © 2005 Construction News :: home page |
