| 2400 Track Bandit: one tough chipper! Bandit's 24" capacity Model 2400 Track Bandit is the largest self-propelled, hydraulic feed, disc style whole tree chipper available. Power and production is what this machine is all about. Its unique five wheel hydraulic feed system consists of two horizontal and two vertical wheels with an added top wheel set on a diagonal. The extra top wheel nearly doubles the feed wheel surface contacting the wood, making it extremely effective in folding and crushing limbs and tops. A Caterpillar 645 HP diesel provides plenty of power to chip 24" diameter whole trees. An 80' tree is reduced in under a minute, producing in excess of 100 tons of chips per hour. The Model 2400 has tremendous throwing capacity, ensuring fully loaded chip vans. A 220° hydraulic swivel discharge spout allows the operator to aim chips in virtually any direction and to park several chip vans around the unit at once. This unit really gets around via a 325L Cat undercarriage with two speed hydraulic drive that provides plenty of ground clearance and great floatation. It is the ideal machine for land clearing because you can actually take the chipper to the trees, eliminating the need to forward or skid. It is also extremely easy to post on a landing. Sit back, relax and enjoy the ride in the roomy operator's cab. A joystick controls all machine functions, including the powerful backhoe style loader equipped with continuous rotation grapple. A 5 1/2' track-type infeed conveyor enables this Bandit to easily process short, blocky materials and piles of brush. The 2400 Track is extremely easy to service and maintain with all service areas easily accessible. Bandit offers three additional models of whole tree chippers for you to choose from: the 14" Model 1400, the 19" Model 1900 and the 18" Model 1850. write your comments about the article :: © 2005 Construction News :: home page |
