| Industry's largest portable 10” table saw Metabo, a manufacturer of professional grade portable electric power tools and abrasives for industrial, construction and welding applications, has added a portable 10” table saw to its new line of benchtop woodworking tools. The TS 250 Portable Table Saw offers a 25-1/2” x 30” table, the largest on the market, and is ideal for ripping or crosscutting materials to size. The new TS 250 features a number of innovations. Soft-Start technology guarantees a smooth start and silent operation. The T-slot miter gauge allows for crosscutting wider pieces (up to 22”) in front of the blades. Users can easily make a -1.5° undercut with the turn of a knob and bevel the saw blade from -1.5° to 46.5° with a convenient, tool-free handle at the front of the saw. The parallel fence, which can be used on either side, is clamped both at the front and back of the table for truer cuts and greater stability. An integrated table extension allows rip cuts of up to 24-1/4”. The heavy-duty 15-amp motor is mounted on two posts with four mounting points to minimize vibration. The motor’s no-load speed is 3, 950 rpm. With the included 10” x 34-tooth carbide blade, the maximum cutting depth at 90° is 3-1/8”, and 2-1/2” at 45°. The Metabo TS 250 offers both 2-1/4” and 2-1/2” dust collection port sizes. The saw, which weighs 70 pounds, has built-in storage for blades, wrenches and its power cord, as well as storage for the fence and miter gauge during transit. A lock-out feature is incorporated into the switch and a push stick is included for safety when working with small pieces. The TS 250 is part of Metabo’s first-ever line of benchtop woodworking tools, which includes three miter saws, a table saw and a planer. All five products were designed for Metabo by Elektra-Beckum (part of the Metabo Group since 1999) and feature innovative designs and Elektra-Beckum’s signature electric blue color. write your comments about the article :: © 2005 Construction News :: home page |
