| Chinaplas 2005 closed with great applause ![]() The responses from overseas delegation groups were particularly encouraging. During the four-day event, on top of delegation groups from Malaysian Plastics Manufacturers Association, Singapore Plastics Industry Association, Korea Die & Mould Industries Cooperative, Vietnam Plastics Association, Thai Plastic Industries Association and Philippines Plastics Industry Association, groups from Turkey, India, Indonesia, Korea, Germany, Spain, Japan, etc. also flocked to Chinaplas 2005. Some delegations groups also took this opportunity to visit plastic products factories nearby so as to facilitate technological exchange and explore cooperating opportunities. As the applications of plastics and rubber are very wide, visitors of Chinaplas 2005 came from different industries. This year, 26.7% of visitors came from plastic / rubber processing factories, chemical / daily chemicals factories, 13.9% was manufacturers of electronic products, electrical appliances, toys and autoparts, mould and die factories, 23.9% was manufacturers of plastic products, construction products and packaging factories, 10.1% was rubber products manufacturers, 13.2% was plastic / rubber machine manufacturers. For visitors' business nature, 67.3% was manufacturers, 17.13% was importers / exporters / wholesalers / distributors, 6.83% was retailers. The remaining was from service industry, association, research institutions and academic institution. Visitor statistics also revealed that nearly 55% of visitors were decision makers, consisting of directors, general managers, factory owners, managers, assistant managers, chief engineers and senior engineers. Among the visitors from Mainland China, 46.3% of them were from the private sectors, 43.8% from joint-venture enterprises and 9.1% from the state owned enterprises. These figures reflect the growing importance of private sectors and joint-venture enterprises, which are being widely recognized as locomotives for the fast development of China's economy. According to an on-site visitor survey, 94% of interviewees agreed that Chinaplas 2005 was the most influential and representative plastics and rubber trade fair in China. Nearly 60% of visitors' companies will or may purchase overseas machines / equipment in the coming two years, demonstrating the enormous market potential in China's industry. Chinaplas is held every even year in Shanghai and rotates between Beijing and Guangzhou in every odd year. Chinaplas 2006 has been scheduled for April 26-29, 2006 in Shanghai New International Expo Centre in Pudong, Shanghai, PR China.
