Welcome to visit Chinaplas, Asia's No. 1 exhibition for the plastics and rubber Industries

Recognized as the largest plastics and rubber trade fair in PR China and Asia, Chinaplas 2005 (also known as The 19th International Exhibition on Plastics and Rubber Industries) opens today (June 21) at Guangzhou International Convention and Exhibition Centre, Pazhou, Guangzhou, PR China. The current edition has a record setting of over 1, 000 exhibitors. It is anticipated that over 50, 000 trade visitors will converge on the 4-day show from June 21 to June 24, aiming at establishing business relationships with mainland and overseas suppliers, purchasing latest products or equipment to enhance productivity.

With accumulated experiences from past 18 editions, Chinaplas 2005 provides a unique platform for easier search of worldwide business partners in the plastics and rubber industries. The current edition is a spectacular success with 77, 000sqm exhibition area and 1, 128 exhibitors participating from 29 countries / regions. This year, there are ten group pavilions from Austria, Canada, Germany, India, Italy, Japan, PR China and Taiwan Province, United Kingdom and USA.

German pavilion at current edition consists of 112 exhibiting companies with combined exhibiting space reaching 3, 074 square meters, registering respective increase of 18% and 21% over the 2004 edition. This is the ever-largest scale German Pavilion at Chinaplas, which also represents the largest national pavilion at Chinaplas 2005. Above increases highlight the importance of German plastics and rubber machinery manufacturers and China plastics and rubber market in global plastics and rubber industry.

The encouraging response to Chinaplas is also reflected in the number of pre-registered visitors who came from over 110 countries and regions. Delegation groups from Germany, India, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Spain, Thailand, Turkey, Vietnam, etc. will arrive at the show venue from today onwards. The unprecedented scale reflects the remarkable status and positioning of Chinaplas 2005 being recognized in China, Asia and even overseas.

Since plastics and rubber are widely applied in different industries, the show is expected to cover visitors from various industries including automobile, building, chemicals / daily chemicals, food & beverage, electronics, electrical appliances, information technology, moulds & dies, packaging, plastics / rubber products, telecommunications, toys, etc. Moreover, over 900 sets of machinery including extrusion machines, blow molding machines, injection molding machines, auxiliary equipment, etc and a wide array of chemicals and raw materials are showcased at the event. Special highlights include Husky's China-made injection moulding machines, HyPET 120 and Hylectric 120, KLOECKNER DESMA's new generation of rubber injection moulding machine assembled in China, Gefran's injection moulding machine, blow moulding machine and new control model of extrusion line, Ceast's new Smart Rheo and the new Berstorff ZE Basic twinscrew extruder, etc.

In the Chemicals and Raw Materials Zone, innovative solutions and products are also displayed by leading market players, such as GE Advanced Materials, Atofina, SK, Teijin, Honeywell, Mitsui, Ciba, Dow Chemical, DSM, Dupont, BASF, ExxonMobil Chemical, Polyone, Reliance, Solvin, Sabic, Kuraray, etc. Among the exhibitors, Sabic occupies the largest booth. With increasing application of thermoplastic elastomers in autoparts, building materials, stationery, sports equipment, etc, this year, there are more exhibitors showcasing thermoplastic elastomers, including Kraiburg, Merquinsa, Zylog, Nanjing Jingling, Hotai, etc.

To facilitate interaction and effective communication between buyers and suppliers, eight theme zones are set up in Chinaplas 2005. They are Machinery Zone, Drinktec & Plastic Packaging Zone, Auxiliary & Testing Equipment Zone, Die & Mould Zone, Chemicals & Raw Materials Zone, Rubber Equipment Zone, Semi-Finished Product Zone and Chinese Export Machinery Hall.

Running parallel with the event are conference of "Plastics & Rubber in Autoparts Production", symposiums on "Plastic Packaging in Food and Beverage Industries - New Materials & Technologies for the Changing Market" and "Latest Applications of Modified Plastics & New Injection Technologies In Electronics & Electrical Appliances". Prestigious experts from overseas and China are invited to be speakers to share the latest technological development with visitors. Renowned enterprises such as ExxonMobil Chemical Asia Pacific, BASF China Ltd., DSM Engineering Plastics, etc will also give presentations.

Chinaplas 2005 is organized by Adsale Exhibition Services Ltd, co-organized by China Foreign Trade Centre (Group), China National Light Industry Council - China Plastics Processing Industry Association, Guangdong Plastics Industry Association and Messe Dusseldorf China Ltd. In 2005, it is already the 16th consecutive year for Chinaplas to enjoy exclusive sponsorship form EUROMAP (European Committee of Machinery Manufacturers for the Plastics & Rubber Industries) in China.
