Travelex to sponsor high potential leaders for the future

Travelex, the leading independent foreign exchange specialist is proud to announce the launch of its global diversity sponsorship programme, designed to increase the gender and ethnic/racial diversity of its talent pipeline to senior management level within the organisation.

The sponsorship programme will see members of the Executive and Senior Leadership Team (the “Sponsors”) matched with diverse high potential talent (the “Sponsees”). The Sponsors will be responsible for supporting the career development of their assigned Sponsee.

The Travelex sponsorship programme, which will include a total of 30 individuals across the global business, is designed to support high potential gender and ethnically/racially diverse talent in accelerating their development by facilitating their exposure to critical learning experiences, providing them with opportunities to develop the capability required to take the next steps in their career.

Travelex recognises the importance of supporting talent from all diversity strands to strengthen its business. The initial launch of this sponsorship programme will act as a pilot with future plans to extend the programme to include other diversity strands.

Clare Belcher, Co-chair of the Travelex Diversity Committee said: “We are excited about the impact the Travelex sponsorship programme will have in driving the equality agenda across our global business, providing opportunities for colleagues and ensuring that our senior management take individual accountability for developing our next generation of talent.”

“With research from McKinsey showing that gender diverse companies are 15% more profitable and ethnically diverse companies being 35% more profitable, increasing diverse representation at our senior management level is not just the ethically right thing to do, it also will drive business performance and financial return.”
