IGEL Teams with Tehama to Securely Deliver Virtual Workspaces

Delivering Amazon Workspaces on pre-configured IGEL endpoints with Teradici PCoIP® software simplifies employee on-boarding and off-boarding

READING, UK. Jan. 24, 2019 – IGEL, a world leader in software-defined endpoint optimisation and control for the secure enterprise, today announced that it is teaming with Tehama, a cloud-based platform that secures and simplifies global IT operations, to deliver Amazon (AWS) Workspaces to end-users via the industry-leading Teradici PCoIP® Software Client for Linux.

“For organisations with globally dispersed workforces, on-boarding and off-boarding employees can be an enormous challenge, ” said Simon Clephan, Vice President of Business Development, IGEL. “Today’s businesses need workspace delivery solutions that are scalable, secure and simple to manage. Together with Tehama and Teradici, we are answering that call with a powerful solution that provides employees with secure access to their AWS Workspaces in a matter of minutes. As a result, companies can achieve dramatic improvements in agility, speed and cost-savings.”

David Smith, CEO of Teradici said, “This seamless solution paves the way for IGEL customers to securely access powerful cloud services like Amazon WorkSpaces. We are delighted to collaborate on compelling solutions for IGEL customers.”

Security and Flexibility for Fast-Evolving Workspace Environments
Tehama is a SaaS-based solution that leverages controls, policies and secure vaults to provide geographically-dispersed employees, contractors and other third-parties with controlled and monitored virtual workspaces with access to corporate assets.

“We are thrilled to be teaming with IGEL to support the secure delivery of Amazon Workspaces via IGEL’s software-defined endpoints including the IGEL UD Pocket and IGEL Universal Desktop Converter, ” said Craig Wesely Irwin, Vice President, Commercial Operations, Tehama. “By combining Tehama’s workspace delivery solutions with IGEL endpoints, and in particular the IGEL UD Pocket, an end user can walk up to any 64-bit x86 device, plug the UD Pocket into an available USB port, boot to USB, and get near-instant access to ‘ready-to-work’ Tehama Secure Rooms. This enables easy and secure collaboration between remote employees while at the same time ensuring regulatory compliance.”

Irwin added, “When the end user unplugs the IGEL UD Pocket from the USB port, nothing is stored locally so the device and it immediately reverts back to its original state. This is a game-changer in terms of remote user enablement, security and productivity.”

Tehama’s pre-built compliance-in-a-box workspaces meet security and regulatory standards, including SOC 2 Type II, GDPR, OSFI, and FIPS. Some of the key features include:
• Forensic auditing with session recordings and storage
• Powerful real-time activity monitoring
• Policy controls and enhanced governance

Additionally, with Tehama, organisations are able to create secure workspaces that isolate potential threats while enabling productivity and collaboration among privileged users. Key capabilities of the solution include:
• Roles-based access controls
• Identity access management
• Privileged access controls with Zero Trust
• One-time-use passwords
