Within Reach acquires Danish business telecommunications company ipnordic

Supplier of intelligent telephony becomes part of fast-growing UCaaS champion

Almere/Dortmund, 11 January 2019 – ipnordic, supplier of intelligent telephony, becomes part of Within Reach. The fast-growing European group backed by pan-European investment company Waterland completed the acquisition of the Danish award-winning organisation ipnordic. The transaction further contributes to the growth strategy of Within Reach which invests in promising and innovative European telecommunications companies. The labels of Within Reach serve the entire business market through indirect and direct sales channels and contribute to the mission of enabling people within and across organisations to work together optimally through integrated communication and collaboration solutions.

Founded in 2011, ipnordic is a business-to-business specialized full service provider offering IP telephony, mobile, hardware and internet. It counts eighty employees delivering best of breed, customised communications solutions and acts as a one-stop shop for the increasing demand of SMEs in need of a flexible, reliable telephony system. In the Danish market, ipnordic is highly acknowledged for their best-in-class customer service and their unique in-house developed software platform (ipoffice).

Part of a European UC champion
Being part of Within Reach means for ipnordic that they can work more intensively to reach their ambition of accelerated growth in the Danish telecommunications market. “Within Reach is acquiring the most talented telecom companies within Europe – being part of this holding we hope to work closely with other, highly skilled telecom experts in the future, and we look forward to joining the team, ” says former COO Charles Ginnerskov, who will now fill the position as CEO of ipnordic.

Within Reach was established in 2018 by the Dutch-based Voiceworks, a VoIP and web technology expert, and German Unified Communications specialist Swyx. Soon after, the group made an impactful acquisition by adding the French company Centile, together becoming a European UC champion.

Opening up new growth markets
The group currently operates in their core markets Germany, the Netherlands and France with activities in 25 countries and more than 500 employees. Stijn Nijhuis, co-CEO of Within Reach and co-founder of Voiceworks says: “Adding ipnordic to our group will complement our portfolio and increase our geographical footprint within Europe. This fits perfectly in our buy & build strategy we rolled out last year. Together, we will accelerate growth opportunities on a European scale, opening up new growth markets. By putting the customer first, ipnordic has achieved a leading position in a very competitive and price-driven market. Their unique service concept and exceptional focus on customer needs is a valuable source of inspiration for us.”

Dr. Ralf Ebbinghaus, co-CEO of Within Reach and CEO and co-founder of Swyx continues: “The acquisition of ipnordic further contributes to our international success in new markets and will create even more synergies within the group. Both distribution partners and end-customers will not only benefit from our extended range of solutions and services, but also from the increasing scale, purchasing strength and market expertise of Within Reach.”

Own market approach
Each of Within Reach’s labels contributes to optimum communication and collaboration across organisations. Altogether, Within Reach covers a comprehensive unified communications portfolio with multiple UCaaS flavours available across the countries, while each of the labels within the group has its own operating model and market approach.

ipnordic retains its name and it will be 'business as usual'. The workplace remains the same for the ipnordic employees, who work in Gråsten in the Southern part of Jutland. “We will be part of an international team of specialists with high expertise in communications and collaboration. It brings a lot of benefits to us, and for their part, they have seen a great potential in our unique service concept. Of course, we are proud to be acknowledged by experts in the industry, ” concludes Charles Ginnerskov.
