Nirvanix Hires VP of Sales, Senior Director of Alliances

Nirvanix has announced the hiring of Daniel Havens as Vice President of Sales and Craig Halliwell as Senior Director of Alliances, continuing its trend for recruiting experienced industry veterans to management positions at the company whose Storage Delivery Network (SDN) enables businesses to launch global-scale, storage-intensive web applications into the market with integration of its storage application programming interface (API).

As the newest members of the Nirvanix management team, Havens and Halliwell will be expanding the Nirvanix Storage Delivery Network to support products in the consumer electronics space as well as new partnerships in the content delivery network (CDN) managed services markets. As Nirvanix storage nodes are set up worldwide, they will automatically join the global Nirvanix storage cluster such that a file placed on the network is stored at the optimal geographical location based on demand and user experience requirements.

Havens brings to Nirvanix nearly two decades of experience in creating new and successful sales organization, as well as transforming existing teams into world-class operations. Prior to Nirvanix, Havens was the Vice President of Sales for ClearApp, a J2EE composite application management company specializing in enterprise application performance. He joined the company in its early stages and helped drive it to record growth and recognition by Gartner as a 2007 Cool Vendor in the APM space. Before ClearApp, Havens was a Senior Director for BEA Systems where he rapidly developed his U.S. and Canadian units into the leading growth engines within the corporation. Prior to BEA, he was the Senior Director and Principal for MicroStrategy Inc., leading the company from startup to publicly traded company. Havens also served as a Product Manager and public speaker for the Boeing Commercial Aircraft Group. He holds a BS in Engineering from Western Washington University.

Halliwell comes to Nirvanix from IBRIX, where he established the IBRIX channel program and signed major systems integrator partnerships in Asia, Europe and North America. Prior to IBRIX, Halliwell ran the Western Region channel business for VERITAS/Symantec, where he led his team to the top ranking region worldwide in 2005. He also managed global alliance partners at BEA Systems, and was a key member of the sales organization at Akamai Technologies during its early growth years and through its initial public offering.
