PowerFile Strengthens Executive Management Team

PowerFile has announced the expansion of its executive management team with the addition of Dave Loewith as Vice President of Engineering and Keith Son as Senior Director of Hardware Engineering. The two industry veterans bring a combined 45 years of engineering experience from the fields of networking and storage to the company.

PowerFile is well positioned to attract top talent, such as Loewith and Son, whose abilities to combine intelligent storage management software and sophisticated file management with cost-effective, robust hardware strengthens the company's engineering team and helps position PowerFile for future success.

Prior to joining PowerFile, Loewith served as VP of Engineering and Operations at EVault, a Seagate company focused on online backup and recovery technologies. While at EVault, he built and led an engineering team that produced competitive, on time, high-quality products and an operations group that provisioned the software as a service. He also served as VP of Information Protection at Legato Systems and was a key factor in its purchase by EMC. Loewith also served as Director of Storage Solutions at Amdahl Corp and held development management positions at Nixdorf Computer and Raytheon Data Systems. He holds a B.A. from Albion College in Albion, Mich.

Son comes to PowerFile from Marvell where he served as director of the storage controller business unit. He previously was a system architect for Network Appliance responsible for development of hardware systems and architecture of strategic manufacturing capabilities. Keith received a B.S. in computer science and electrical engineering from George Mason University.
