Netcordia Enhances Real-Time Analysis with NetMRI 2.3

Netcordia has announced the general availability of its new NetMRI 2.3, which provides enterprises with even more real-time capabilities including event analysis, support for helpdesk and operations staff, updated support for the latest versions of Cisco Unified Communications Manager, and new Wireless LAN support. With NetMRI 2.3, enterprises benefit from analysis of events and issues as they happen. Now, network managers can easily find critical events in time, in order to respond to issues before they seriously impact business services.

A key feature of NetMRI 2.3 is the ability to identify and inform organizations of network problems in real-time, keeping network managers one step ahead of service impacting troubles. The new real-time issue generation and event analysis capabilities of NetMRI enable network managers to automatically collect, store, and index event data, and analyze network problems with built-in NetMRI expert best practices rules. Providing real-time analysis of performance and configuration information, in conjunction with real-time event analysis, is key to proactively discovering important network issues, including the ones that could cause critical business interruptions.

Included in NetMRI 2.3 are a number of new features such as a powerful search engine called "NetMRI FindIT", which enables network operations and helpdesk staff to easily access key aspects of NetMRI's wealth of information on their own specialized web page. For example, finding how and where a person's computer or phone is connected to the network, which network devices support that person, and the important details of their connection, takes seconds to find out.

NetMRI 2.3 also provides new support for Cisco 4400 series Wireless LAN Controllers. NetMRI 2.3 collects and analyzes configurations for the Controller and its radios. This helps to ensure the controller is running at optimal performance and minimizes network downtime. Ensuring wireless uptime is critical for universities, as students consider wireless network capabilities when it comes to choosing colleges.

The new NetMRI version also provides support for the latest Cisco's Unified Communications Manager versions. Support for Cisco Unified Communications Manager is also critical, enabling network managers to easily track all active VoIP network components through NetMRI. This significantly reduces the work and risk involved in voice management by automating data collection and correlation of both voice and data from Cisco Unified Communications Manager and network data.
