Rackable Issues Servers with New Quad-Core Intel Xeon Processors

Rackable Systems has announced the adoption of the newest Intel Xeon processor series into its broad family of energy-efficient servers, available within 30 days. The new low wattage processors draw a mere 50 watts of power, enabling even greater performance per watt per square foot when paired with Rackable Systems' servers and storage systems.

Rackable Systems unveiled the world's first cabinet of publicly-demonstrated quad-core servers in August of 2006 at the Intel Developer Forum. The newest line of servers leveraging the Quad-Core Intel Xeon processors L5320 and L5310 extend Rackable Systems' leadership in quad-core computing, enabling dramatic reduction in power consumption while maintaining superior performance.
