| Micromethod Launches SIP/SIMPLE Presence Server Micromethod launches SIPoint server that consists of SIP proxy, registrar, XCAP functions and SIMPLE presence engine. By using SIP Instant Messaging and Presence Leverage Extension (SIMPLE) technology and providing a core set of routing, presence and resource management functions, SIPoint server can be applied to a wide array of real-time VoIP communication applications and services. While Micromethod SIPoint server's proxy function provides accurate routing of general SIP messages and presence information; the presence engine collects and updates user presence information (online/offline, busy and away) as well as user capability (Audio, Video, IM, Collaboration). In addition to core SIP and SIMPLE support, SIPoint server implements XCAP functions for server side resource management such as buddy list. SIPoint server can be deployed at VoIP service provider, web ASP or enterprise as critical server component of any presence-aware SIP-based communication and collaboration services – instant messaging, IP-PBX, web collaboration, video conferencing or any communication-enabled business application. SIPoint Server can be deployed by service provider or enterprise as standalone, distributed or clustered for efficient capacity planning. The ability to scale up and down will allow organizations to start with low capital expenditure and scale with growth while delivering high-value services.
