Remote Access Your Serial Device Via Fiber Networking

Korenix Technology expands the new JetPort 5601f RS232/422/485 3-in-one to Fiber Ethernet device server to JetPort product line. In industrial automation, the implementation of a fiber optics extension can provide you with a flexible solution to expand your network. The fiber media technology also provides high noise immunity against EMI interferences to greatly extend the network connection range and keep reliable transmission. To support mission-critical industrial applications, today's network infrastructure needs connectivity solutions that are reliable and scalable as well as secure and manageable. That is where a fiber media can help. With built-in terminators, the JetPort 5601f serial device server can be adjusted for best impedance match to serial network lines. This feature greatly helps the unit deliver the high and reliable serial data throughput when connected as RS-422 or RS-485 network.

The JetPort 5601f can be configured by JetPort Commander, an easy-to-use utility for Windows that covers all management, monitoring, and control functions for one or many JetPort servers. In addition to Windows configuration, the unit can be configured by Web or Telnet, giving administrators the flexibility for device management. The JetPort 5601f can be wall mounted or Din-rail mounted by the Din-rail kit.

The fiber Ethernet allows high communication bandwidth and provides the high noise immunity against EMI/RFI interferences. In addition, the Fiber serial server with low EMC emission, no ground loops, industrial-level protection against lightning and high voltage surge environments, can be installed in the fields to sustain high risk in hazardous applications. For long distance applications, the single-mode fiber supports 30KM transmission distance and multi-mode 2KM.

The JetPort 5601f's serial port supports RS232, RS422, 2/4 wire RS485 and is configured by software and supports speed as high as 460.8kbps. The serial port can work in various communication modes, including virtual com, TCP server, TCP client, UDP, and serial tunnel. The JetPort 5601f also supports HTTPS and SSH for secured communication management. Advanced settings for controlling the data communications such as TCP alive check, delimiter, and timeout are also supported. For industrial redundant solutions, the unit supports to maximum 5 simultaneous connections for virtual com, TCP server, TCP client modes, sending data to 5 hosts simultaneously.
