BSQUARE Announces New Embedded Server Solutions for OEMs

BSQUARE will provide optimization services and support for server solutions based on the Intel NetStructure MPCBL0050 Single Board Computer, containing the new Dual-Core Intel Xeon processor 5100 series, and Microsoft Windows Embedded Server 2003 R2. For example, OEMs building dedicated embedded server solutions based on the Intel MPCBL0050 will be able to accelerate their time to market by having their image developed by BSQUARE. BSQUARE will also provide system integration and Windows Embedded server licensing.

In addition, BSQUARE will focus on the software optimization of dedicated function servers and server appliances utilizing SQL Server 2005 for Embedded Systems. These dedicated servers are targeted at back-end database for embedded applications, Data Protection Manager for Embedded Systems, continuous disk backup of network servers, document imaging database server, Integrated Voice Messaging System database server and Storage Server database server. These added services demonstrate BSQUARE's increasing focus on the embedded server market.

The Intel MPCBL0050 Single Board Computer, a fifth generation design, combines Intel 64 technology with dual-core, dual processing capabilities (four cores in total) providing a performance boost and superior subsystem scalability and density. This new high performance design also delivers significant performance improvement within a 200W power envelop with AMC expandability for compute-intensive and database-access applications. These dedicated embedded applications servers are targeted at streaming media (Enterprise Content Delivery Network), Medical imaging, Information Lifecycle Management and Network Boot Engine.
