Logicalis Consolidates UK Businesses

Logicalis has announced a restructuring of its UK business. It has merged the company's existing UK networking (LNS) and computing divisions (LCS) into a single entity as the market continues to converge.

As part of the restructuring, Tom Kelly, previously the managing director of LNS, has been appointed managing director for the combined UK operation. He will have responsibility for the strategy, sales, marketing, business development and systems engineering and will report to Ian Cook, CEO of Logicalis' European operations.

According to Kelly, by bringing together the company's complete capabilities under a single management, UK customers will benefit particularly from Logicalis' end-to-end knowledge of the market and focus on today's strategic business drivers. "In particular, we'll be concentrating our efforts on advising them on how to migrate towards state-of-the-art business practices that will improve their agility, continuity and ability to demonstrate the highest standards of corporate and social responsibility", says Kelly.

Logicalis now looks to increase its international momentum by building on its recent acquisition of re:solution in Germany and creating a viable strategy for growth in mainland Europe. To drive this momentum, Steve Ellis, former managing director of LCS, takes up the role of Senior VP - International Development, with initial responsibility for building the business in mainland Europe to equal that of the size of the current UK operation. He will also report to Ian Cook.
