Spectracom Launches Next-Generation Netclock NTP Time Servers

Spectracom has announced the release and availability of its new, network-centric 9200 Series NetClock NTP time servers. This product line transforms critical network operations with robust features for increased security, easy-to-use management tools, and reliable and accurate network time synchronization. The powerful 9200 Series represents a bold step forward in providing the enhanced design features of authentication, centralized logging, and enhanced security for synchronization of time-critical data.

As more devices interoperate throughout shared networks, a fundamental requirement for network administrators is to provide accurate, time-based records and secure data management to internal customers and outside agencies. Spectracom's next-generation time server products enable secure time-stamping of electronic transactions to new voice and video communications as well as ensure records accuracy-securely and safely across the enterprise from behind the edge firewall.

The 9200 Series leads the time server industry by being the only NTP server to receive IPv6 Phase 2 certification through the IPv6 READY program. Spectracom is one of nine companies in the United States to receive this certification for its products. Recently, a 9200 Series time server was used to synchronize one of the largest IPv6 networks as part of the University of New Hampshire's Moonv6 test event. Test and assessment analysis included IPv6 Security, Transition Mechanisms, IPv6 Routing, DHCPv6 and IPv6 Applications. The 9200 Series can operate on a mixed IPv4 and IPv6 network or on either network.

The 9200 Series consists of three models designed for customers' varied needs: the NetClock Models 9283 and 9289 and the Ethernet Time Server Model 9288. All models run on Linux v2.6 and feature the Apache web server.
