Carrier Access Announces MASTERseries Release 5.0

Carrier Access Corporation has announced the introduction of a major software release for the FLEXengine technology that adds the switching and prioritization of 3G radio data protocols and the ability to integrate 2G, 3G and IP traffic over a common group of bonded T1 access circuits. In addition to multiple T1 support, FLEXengine in the 5.0 Release of the MASTERseries platform supports high speed DS3 transport and 3G radio connections for wireless carrier Radio Access Networks.

FLEXengine technology is a new high-capacity, software defined circuit and packet processing technology for cell site access, switching center and transport hub locations. FLEXengine integrates data interworking functions to optimize the transport of 2G and 3G broadband data over both existing and new packet-based broadband wireless access networks.

Carrier Access offers this next-generation technology for both new product shipments and as an upgrade to its installed base of over 55.000 cell sites within leading mobile wireless carriers.
