New GigaVUE-MP v 2.0 switch

Gigamon Systems announced the availability of GigaVUE-MP Version 2.0 which adds advanced mapping and 10 Gigabit scalability to the first enterprise-class, out-of-band, data access switch. The new version greatly expands the functionality of GigaVUE-MP -- which enables "Any-to-Any" connectivity from multiple data sources to multiple network monitoring tools, significantly reducing total cost of tool ownership. In less than three quarters of market availability, GigaVUE-MP has been installed by over 30 leading enterprises and government agencies representing over $2 million in sales.

With its new 10 Gigabit "GigaLINK" stacking architecture, multiple GigaVUE data-access switches can now be interconnected to form a contiguous out-of-band data-access switching fabric, gracefully scaling to adapt to a growing network.

Version 2.0 also includes a new mapping filter capability that insures optimal traffic loads at each tool by logically dividing and mapping the traffic to individual tools. Network managers can now split multi-Gigabit traffic on the basis of VLAN ranges, applications, IP addresses, flows, or other attributes to a parallel array of sub-Gigabit monitoring tools without fear of overloading any one tool.
