MDS entraNET 900 for p2p networks

Microwave Data Systems announced that the MDS entraNET 900 now offers enhanced Distributed Network Protocol (DNP.3) routing over an Internet Protocol (IP) backbone network. The MDS entraNET is a long-range, solar-friendly, secure, wireless IP/Ethernet solution. Now with DNP.3 routing capability, it enables peer-to-peer networking, allowing customers to bring mission-critical information over Ethernet or a serial gateway and onto IP-based networks.

Using the MDS entraNET in peer-to-peer networks provides numerous benefits over mesh networking, including the ability to build out larger and geographically distributed networks while maintaining near real-time response. It also provides redundancy in critical locations, the ability to manage a simple network, and a lower cost of implementation.

Because it is a long-range solution, the MDS entraNET with DNP.3 routing, means less infrastructure is needed to build your wireless network, which translates into dramatically lower costs.
