Solarflare joins the Ethernet Alliance

Solarflare Communications announced that it has joined the Ethernet Alliance, an industry group dedicated to the continued success and expansionof Ethernet technology. Working with other member companies to promote 10GBASE-T, Solarflare will play a key role in helping the Ethernet Alliance fulfill its mission of the advancement of existing and emerging Ethernet technologies and reduced time-to-market of Ethernet products based on new technology.
"Solarflare has been a driving force in the IEEE 802.3an standards committee, which is near to completing the 10GBASE-T standard. 10GBASE-T products will enable enterprise and data center customers to migrate to higher speeds without costly infrastructure upgrades, " said Bruce Tolley, director of marketing at Solarflare. "We are pleased to join the founding members of the Ethernet Alliance in advancing 10G Ethernet technology for high-performance computing and campus networks."

Solarflare joins with other leading Ethernet ecosystem companies (bothpartners and customers) that make up the Alliance including 3Com, ADC, AgereSystems, AMCC, Aquantia, Broadcom, Force10 Networks, Foundry Networks, Intel, Lawrence Berkeley Labs, Pioneer Corporation, Quake Technologies, Samsung, SunMicrosystems, Tehuti Networks, Tyco Electronics, The University of New Hampshire Inter Operability Laboratory (UNH-IOL), and Xilinx.
