Fujitsu Siemens selects Sierra Wireless HSDPA module

Sierra Wireless announcedthat Fujitsu Siemens Computers has selected the Sierra Wireless MC8755 PCIExpress Mini Card modules to provide integrated HSDPA/UMTS networkconnectivity to specific models in its LIFEBOOK Professional Notebook Series, simplifying access to online information and corporate applications for mobileprofessionals. The AirCard Enabled LIFEBOOK notebooks from Fujitsu SiemensComputers will be available to mobile professionals in Europe, the MiddleEast, and Africa as of Q2, 2006.
"With more than 30 percent growth in the notebook segment, FujitsuSiemens Computers is a strong player in the mobility market. We see a greatpotential in UMTS embedded professional notebooks and with the Sierra WirelessMini Card we can now offer our customers data access anytime and anywhere theUMTS network is available, " says Andreas Thimmel, Vice President BusinessClients at Fujitsu Siemens Computers.
Sierra Wireless Mini Card embedded modules are designed for integrationinto notebook computers and other mobile computing devices, offering mobileprofessionals convenient, built-in access to online information andapplications at broadband speeds, allowing them to work productively withoutspending valuable time searching for hotspots.
