Support for cingular 8100 series Pocket PC

Delivering on its vision toprovide enterprise-class wireless messaging and corporate application accessacross an extensive choice of mobile devices, Good Technology, the leadingprovider of industry standards-based enterprise handheld computing softwareand service, today announced that its GoodLink and GoodAccess solutions willsupport the Cingular 8100 series Pocket PC running Microsoft Windows Mobile5.0. The combination of Microsoft's robust operating system, the 8100 series'full feature-set, including QWERTY "slider" keyboard, Cingular's nationwide*EDGE network, and Good's secure, reliable unified mobility platform providesenterprises with a comprehensive solution for real-time, push-access to email, intranet browsing and other business critical applications.

Adding to its breadth of handheld choices on Windows Mobile-based PocketPC, Smartphone, Palm OS and, in the future, Symbian-powered Nokia handhelds, Good now supports a greater range of line of business needs with a fully-featured Windows Mobile 5.0 Pocket PC. The integrated Wi-Fi, Bluetoothsupport, and quad-band support make the Cingular 8100 series an ideal choicefor customers in the healthcare, field service and manufacturing sectors whodepend on integrated, mobile access to PIM, voice, and other criticalenterprise applications while on the go.

In addition, Good Technology enables business customers to better managetheir mobility costs with Zero-IT Touch() Secure Over-The-Air (SecureOTA()) upgrades, over-the-air application distribution and management, andprotects enterprise assets with FIPS-certified security all the way from theenterprise perimeter through the transport network down to the device.
The Cingular 8100 series gives customers the best in connectivity, productivity, and mobility with Windows Mobile 5.0; integrated Wi-Fi andBluetooth support; persistent memory storage that retains information evenwhen the device's battery is depleted; quad-band international roaming andEDGE. Cingular's EDGE network is the largest high-speed national wirelessdata network in the U.S. with availability in 13, 000 cities and towns andalong nearly 40, 000 miles of major highways. GoodLink and GoodAccess for the Cingular 8100 series are availableimmediately for mobile enterprises with Microsoft Exchange and, in the summerof 2006, for IBM Domino/Lotus Notes corporate email systems.
