| Private line Hub/Tail service ICG Communications Inc. (ICG) announced today that it is now offering Private Line Hub/Tail service to Colorado- and Ohio-based telecommunications providers. The service is ideal for VoIP providers, ISPs and carriers that need to access customers at the DS1 (or T1) level. Private Line Hub/Tail provides a DS3 hub that can be broken down into smaller DS1 tails (or pipes). Doing this instead of selling standalone DS1 lines provides economies of scale, which leads to cost savings for the provider or carrier. The service enables providers to deliver Internet access and/or VoIP service to end-user customers and enables a direct connection between carrier networks and their customers. "The Private Line Hub/Tail service allows ICG customers to leverage our extensive on-net central office presence and wide coverage area, " said Matt Erickson, ICG's vice president of marketing and product management. "Further, our competitive pricing allows customers to significantly reduce their costs versus buying directly from the ILEC." "Partnering with ICG has allowed us to expand our network coverage area and bring improved pricing to our client base, " said Robert D. Marks, president of Fidelity Access Networks, which is based near Cleveland. "In addition, ICG has done an excellent job in provisioning and customer support with this product.
