Aladdin joins Microsoft's Virus Information Alliance

Aladdin Knowledge Systems, the worldwide leader in Software Digital Rights Management (DRM) and USB-based authentication solutions, and a leading innovator in enterprise secure content management, today announced it has joined Microsoft's Virus Information Alliance (VIA), an information sharing group consisting of the industry's leading anti-virus software vendors.

Founded in 2003, the VIA stands as an effective forum for sharing technical information about viruses and worms that affect Microsoft products and customers. Members of the VIA continually exchange valuable technical information on newly discovered viruses so that Microsoft can more quickly communicate to customers their targets, impact and methods of remediation.

"Aladdin is pleased to work with Microsoft as a member of this valuable alliance, as our Content Security Response Team will be actively participating in the sharing of information regarding the propagation and impact of viruses, " said Shimon Gruper, vice president of technologies for the Aladdin eSafe Business Unit. "Through membership in the VIA, Aladdin takes another significant step in assisting the public as fast and as accurately as possible when an outbreak occurs."

"Microsoft is pleased to work with Aladdin and all the VIA members to provide customers with the information they need to help protect themselves from malicious threats. Security is an industry wide issue, and Microsoft is committed to continuing to work closely with industry partners toward the common goal of improving security for all computer users, " said Stephen Toulouse, security program manager of the Security Response Center at Microsoft Corp.
