Choro Festival 2021 - ChoroFest - Online Performances 12/4 4PM

The Brazilian Music Foundation (BMF), in partnership with Asuos Productions and Bossa Magazine, will present the 7th Annual International Choro Festival highlighting the history of Brazilian “SAMBA-CHORO & CHORO FROM NORTHEAST”.

Those who appreciate the genuine sound of Brazilian instrumental music will have the opportunity to enjoy the 7th International Choro Festival ONLINE on

The Festival collaborators will incorporate different cultures and participate in artistic exchanges between Brazil and the US.The Festival also aspires to promote and preserve the “Choro” – a rich instrumental music tradition since the nineteenth century, known as the oldest musical style throughout Brazil. The goal is to bring together local musicians with fellow musicians from Brazil and other countries to present traditional Choro as well as new compositions.

By attending one of our concerts you will not only enjoy the best of Brazilian Music but you will also be helping many organizations to remove children off the streets, helping them being socially responsible, and giving them the opportunity for a better life through music. BMF supports music educational projects in New York and the surrounding area, as well as projects being developed in Brazil and in other countries.

The “Escola de Choro e Cidadania Luizinho 7 Cordas” (School of Choro and Citizenship Luizinho 7 Chords) is a non profit organization created in 2001, and its mission is to teach music and create a safe environment where children and young musicians can socialize and learn music for free. The school is located in the Municipal Market in the city of Santos, SP. It is maintained by the “Clube do Choro de Santos”, which is a Civil Society Organization of Public Interest, with support from City Hall. It assists children and teenagers from 9 to 17 years old, free of charge.
