NEW VINYL RELEASE Charlie Apicella Trio: Classic Guitar

This vinyl (180 gram audiophile vinyl pressing) and CD release is a tribute to the classic 1950s and 1960s guitar LPs that Charlie collects. These solo, duo, trio, and quartet arrangements are inspired by his love of Freddie Green, Johnny Smith, Barney Kessel, Tony Mattola, Barry Galbraith, and all of the classic guitar masters from the era.

A deeply melodic guitarist along the lines of Grant Green. Apicella faithfully has sought to channel an era of American music when hard-bop and r&b reigned...But the guitarist still manages to keep things fresh. MATTHEW KASSEL, DownBeat
