Chris Rogers Band Birthday Bash Wednesday December 4th 7:00PM @ The Triad Chris Rogers Band Birthday Bash --- JAZZ Wednesday December 4, 2019 @ 7:00PM Trumpeter/composer CHRIS ROGERS has been a soloist with Gerry Mulligan, Eddie Palmieri, Buddy Rich, Chaka Khan, Mongo Santamaria, Ray Barretto, The Mingus Big Band, Maria Schnieder, Arturo O' Farrill, Frank Sinatra and many more. His debut CD “Voyage Home” (featuring Michael Brecker) received 4.5 stars from DOWNBEAT and was named among that magazine's "Best Jazz Albums of 2017" The 2nd Annual CHRIS ROGERS BAND BIRTHDAY BASH will mark the first-ever performance of Rogers' Latin-Jazz Band. Chris will present songs recalling his years with Mongo Santamaria, Ray Barretto & Hilton Ruiz, while also paying tribute to his late father - the great trombonist Barry Rogers - with numbers from the Eddie Palmieri repertoire. On board for this adventure: Sam Dillon (tenor & soprano saxophone); Silvano Monasterios (piano); Jennifer Vincent (bass); Willie Martinez (drums); Chembo Corniel (congas/percussion); and a guest appearance by Andrea Brachfeld (flute).
