Jones-Bass The excitement of jazz played by Karl Latham and Friends is happening at the Amity Gallery on May 25th at 7:30 PM. The music will include standards, classics and original music by 3 outstanding musicians. Karl Latham is a Warwick, NY based internationally recognized drummer, known for his exceptional ability to dig into a variety of musical styles. Karl has performed with wide spectrum of notable artists including Bernie Worrell; The Fantasy Band; Ali Ryerson; Claudio Roditi; Clark Terry; John Lee Quartet; The Dizzy Gillespie Alumni All-Stars; Slide Hampton; Johnny Winter; Jerry Vivino Quartet; Unit1 with Mark Egan; “Constellations” with Mark Egan and Ryan Carniaux; and many many more. Karl is an adjunct faculty member Drew University and the County College of Morris. Karl Latham Voted #7 Drummer in The 38th Annual Jazz Station Awards / The Best Jazz of 2016. Pianist Oscar Perez, has played in the musical groups of Phoebe Snow, Wycliffe Gordon, Christian McBride, Charenee Wade, Dave Stryker, Adrian Cunningham, Steve Turre, Eddie Allen and Don Braden. Oscar is also faculty for Montclair State University and Jazz House Kids and Jazz at Lincoln Center. Bassist Calvin X. Jones, has performed with Steve Coleman, Ray Anderson, Eartha Kitt and countless other artists. Calvin performed for many Broadway hits including “Bring in the Noise, Bring in the Funk”. |
