MPS Records: The Tremble Kids - Digital Re-Issue Program completed by Dec. 29th, 2017

This is the last digital re-issue bunch of MPS Records. The whole MPS Jazz back-catalogue will be digital available for the first time in MPS history by the end of this year. But this is not the end of reforesting the legend - more physical re-issues and new upcoming stars will follow by next year. Stay tuned!

The last but not least digital re-issues are three albums by the Tremble Kids. Check them out.

The Tremble Kids - Hats Of To Eddie Condon //1975

Guitarist Eddie Condon was a fixture in the legendary Chicago jazz scene of the 20's, playing with the likes of Bix Beiderbecke and Jack Teagarden. After his move to New York in 1928, Condon was one of the first white musicians to record integrated bands. From 1945 until over a decade after his death, his NYC club, Eddie Condon's, spotlighted the who's who of the traditional jazz scene. Through his large number of quality recordings with top-flight musicians, Condon was a major influence on the European traditional jazz scene.
Recorded a year after Condon's death in 1973, "Hats Off" indicates the Tremble Kids' gratitude to the man and includes compositions closely associated with Eddie.

Line-Up: Isla Eckinger (Bass), Werner Keller (Clarinet), Charly Antolini (Drums), Peter Schmidli (Guitar), Jean-Pierre Bionda (Piano), Raymond Droz (Trombone), Oscar Klein (Trumpet)

The Tremble Kids - Midnight Session //1973

The second in the MPS sessions, this 1973 recording concentrates on many of the pieces made famous by Louis Armstrong's bands. First recorded by "Satchmo's" 1926 "Hot Five" Big Butter and Egg Man appropriately features Oscar Klein on both muted and hot open trumpet, while piano and horns all contribute on Armstrong's "Someday You'll Be Sorry".

Line-Up: Isla Eckinger (Bass), Werner Keller (Clarinet), Charly Antolini (Drums), Peter Schmidli (Guitar), Jean-Pierre Bionda (Piano), Raymond Droz (Trombone), Oscar Klein (Trumpet)

The Tremble Kids - The Other Way Around //1976

In this, the last of the classic MPS Tremble Kids recordings, the kids play a savory mix of time-honored New Orleans pieces, swing and popular evergreens. There's nothing sluggish in the band's spirited rendition of Hoagy Carmichael's "Lazy River", whereas the popular standard "Sweet Sue" is taken at the luxuriously relaxed pace of lovers on a stroll.

Line-Up: Isla Eckinger (Bass), Werner Keller (Clarinet), Charly Antolini (Drums), Peter Schmidli (Guitar), Jean-Pierre Bionda (Piano), Raymond Droz (Trombone), Oscar Klein (Trumpet)
