Here And Now (Mother of Invention Records) expresses influence by acoustic, electric, drum and bass, Latin, Indian and minimal music. This exciting new CD features Pawel Ignatowicz on both electric guitar and acoustic guitar, guitar synth and electric sitar. The band includes Ferenc Nemeth (Herbie Hancock, Wayne Shorter, Lionel Loueke) on drums, Julian Shore on acoustic piano and keyboards, Edward Perez on bass and Jonathan Singer on tabla. The album embodies a fresh and contemporary approach that weaves a variety of acoustic sound through the album's very melodic concept, but still very much remains in the tradition and the roots of jazz. The record expresses influences from acoustic, electric, drum and bass, Latin, Indian and minimal music.

Music composed and arranged by Pawal Ignatowicz.

Pawel Ignatowicz is pronounced: Pavel Ig-na-ta-vich.

Ignatowicz explains, "For this project, I came up with several different musical ideas. Since i am a big fan of music in general, we included influences of many different styles: minimal, drum n' bass, Latin and acoustic. An important ingredient is the mix by renowned music engineer Dave Darlington. He earned Grammy's® for his work on Wayne Shorter's Alegria, Herbie Hancock's Gershwin's World and Brian Lynch and Eddie Palmieri's Simpatico. Darlington also worked on everything from Miles at the Fillmore to Sting's If On A Winter's Night.... The result is absolutely amazing...better than I ever imagined."

"...I know his voice is going to be heard,
as a composer and as a guitar player..."

- John Benitez / Four-time GRAMMY® award winner

PAWEL IGNATOWICZ - Here and Now: Looks like we don't have enough of our own hot shot guitarists so we had to import one to keep everyone on their toes. Playing from outside the expected lines, he strokes a mellow ax but doesn't need pyrotechnics to get his point across. Well-versed in the right kind of skills to make him stand out even when being low key, this is a supercharged atmospheric date that you won't be able to keep in the background for long no matter how hard you try. A wonderful electric taste of something different.
