Theodicy Jazz Collective presents ‘Christmas Jazz Vespers’ Dec. 1

Theodicy Jazz Collective, ensemble-in-residence at Washington National Cathedral, has won praise for fusing sophisticated jazz with the rites of the church and in the process shedding new light on both traditions. “But, above all, the music is simply stunning, ” said Bruce Neswick of Trinity Cathedral, Portland, Ore. “Carols of Incarnation: Christmas Jazz Vespers, ” in two candlelit services at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church in Worcester on Friday, tells the news of Christ’s birth through scripture, poetry and song, accompanied by jazz, blues and music from around the world.
