Bluesapocalypse to return April 15

The Arlington Center for the Arts will host Bluesapocalypse at 6 p.m. April 15 at the ACA Theater, 41 Foster St.
The event will feature live blues, jazz and soul music by some of Boston’s most eclectic bands This year’s lineup includes Louise Grasmere with Meeting Across the Water, The Tokyo Tramps, Shikiboo & Butane Blue Band, Bees Deluxe and the King Street Band.

Doors open at 6 p.m. Live music starts at 6:30 p.m. Food, silent auction and raffle items will be offered, including four Park Hopper passes to Disney World in Orlando.
Meeting Across the Water is a roots, blues and gospel quartet featuring strong lead vocals and harmonies with piano, guitars, percussion, mandolin and mandocello accompaniment.

Co-lead singers Louise Grasmere and Fred Griffeth have spent years fronting bands in the Boston roots and blues scene. Keyboardist Jonathan Singleton plays with several local blues and jazz bands and is an award-winning gospel choir arranger and conductor.

The Tokyo Tramps are a group of American roots music fans from Japan. Taking inspiration from such rock legends as Bruce Springsteen, this quartet offers a distinct take on blues and rock ‘n’ roll.

Bees Deluxe play 21st century acid-blues, and Arlington Town Meeting member Carol Band can be seen on keys.
A Boston native, Shikiboo has developed her own style of raw and soulful rock ‘n’ roll, inspired by Aretha Franklin and Koko Taylor. She and her band, Butane Blue, have performed at music venues in Boston and New York.
The King Street Band is a Boston-based eight-piece band, bringing audiences sunny originals as well as new takes on old rock favorites, including hits from Van Morrison, Eric Clapton and Shirley Bassey. Admission costs $25 in advance, $30 at the door.
