Heralded as a “one-man band who turns a guitar into an orchestra and his voice into a chorus, ” (NY Times), Midón has collaborated with such heroes as Herbie Hancock, Stevie Wonder, Jason Mraz, Queen Latifah and Snoop Dogg. Jon Cleary Thursday, April 6 at 8pm New Orleans funk master Jon Cleary is a 2016 Grammy award-winner, as well as off Beat Magazine’s 2016 Artist of the Year, Songwriter of the Year, Song of the Year (for “Boneyard”), and Best Piano/Keyboardist. Cleary has contributed to Grammy Award-winning albums by the likes of Bonnie Raitt, B.B. King and Taj Mahal. Squirrel Nut Zippers and Ozomatli “United Together” Tour Wednesday, April 19 at 8pm VIP Meet and Greet tickets available! Ottmar Liebert and Luna Negra Sunday, May 27 at 8pm Ottmar Liebert is one of the most successful instrumental artists of the past decade, thrilling audiences throughout the world. The five-time Grammy nominee is best known for his engaging mix of subdued flamenco guitar with South American percussion, rock, jazz, and pop influences. His popular albums “Barcelona Nights, ” “Nouveau Flamenco” and “Borrasca” have earned 38 Gold and Platinum certifications in the United States and more internationally. A German-born guitarist, songwriter, and producer, he cites musical influences such as Carlos Santana, Miles Davis, Paco de Lucía, Robert Fripp, and Jeff Beck. Liebert has brought his Spanish-influenced easy listening music and flamenco to mainstream America with a certain level of class and accessibility. Pink Martini Wednesday, May 31 at 8pm With its genre-bending, multilingual glory, Pink Martini’s sounds are “rich, hugely approachable, cosmopolitan yet unpretentious” (Washington Post). Join these amazing talents for a musical travelogue from a samba parade in Rio de Janeiro to a quaint piazza in Naples, Italy. Ramsey Lewis Sunday, June 11 at 8pm NEA Jazz Master and three-time GRAMMY® Award winning pianist Ramsey Lewis has been an iconic leader in the contemporary jazz movement for more than 50 years. Perhaps best known for his career-defining "Sun Goddess" album released in 1974, Lewis was also the long-time disc jockey of the nationally-broadcast Legends of Jazz radio program as well as the host of the 13-episode Legends of Jazz PBS television series. Glenn Miller Orchestra Saturday, July 22 at 7:30pm A legend lives on! The World Famous Glenn Miller Orchestra returns to the Playhouse!
