03.12.2024 Reel to Real is thrilled to announce the forthcoming release of Live at the Captain's Cabin, celebrating the living legend Charles Tolliver. The superlative trumpeter first stepped into the spotlight in the mid-1960s, as a sideman to the great saxophonist Jackie McLean; in 1971, he co-founded Strata-East Records, a nexus of hard bop and spiritual jazz, with undersung piano genius Stanley Cowell.
