Chicago's Surabhi Ensemble will be on an international tour January 8-January 31, 2019, with confirmed stops in Vietnam, Spain, Portugal and Senegal.

The award-winning global fusion group is taking their art and positive message to schools, community centers and concert halls in Hanoi, Malaga, Lisbon and Dakar.

Surabhi Ensemble will collaborate with renowned artists in each country they visit and will be joined by special guest Massamba Diop, featured 'talking drum' artist from the Black Panther soundtrack, at select shows. The mission of the Surabhi Ensemble is to demonstrate the importance of cross-cultural exchange and to teach a positive message of togetherness by educating, performing and demonstrating new works of music and dance. Members of Surabhi Ensemble also work with hospitals and community organizations to share this positive message of cultural unity and community outreach.

The group's founder, Indian veena artist Saraswathi Ranganathan, was recently named "Best Asian Entertainer of the Year" at the 2018 Chicago Music Awards and directs the Ensemble of Ragas School of Music. Oud player Ronnie Malley has achieved much acclaim for his work with international artists, original music compositions for film and theater and teaching experience in ethnomusicology. Guitarist Carlo Basile brings a percussive, global Spanish guitar sound to the ensemble along with original compositions, teaching experience from his travel to over 30 countries and background in social work through music. These three artists form the core of the Surabhi Ensemble.

Neoteric Nutra and its owners/artists (Elliott Waits For No One - EWFNW) Brian Troch and Jenny Franck will sponsor and join the Surabhi Ensemble's Global Peace Tour.
