Flutist Receives NAMMY Nomination!

Local Cedar Rapids musician, Jonny Lipford, has been nominated for a NAMMY (Native American Music Award) for his latest work, Waves Of Serenity, which was released earlier this year in February.
The NAMMYS are the music industry's largest and only membership based organization for the advancement of Native American music initiatives & expressions around the world. Based in New York, the Native American Music Awards & Association, Inc. receives hundreds of entries each year and selects only 5-6 nominees in each category. The Awards Show is held on October 14, 2017 at the Seneca Hotel & Casino in Niagara Falls, NY, where the winners will be announced.

Public voting is underway and encouraged until the day of the show.

VOTING INSTRUCTIONS:

1. Scroll down and enter your email to become a voting member.

3. Go back to the upper left side of the Native American Music Awards webpage.
4. Then click on Vote Now.
5. Make your selection.
6. At the bottom of the survey ballot, click submit.

Jonny Lipford has made his mark as one of the most versatile musicians of ancient wooden flutes in the U.S. Since the beginning of his musical journey with Native-style flutes in 2002, Lipford has always been an enthusiastic trailblazer. His innate ability to uniquely carve a new path bridging cultures and marrying unexpected genres together has certainly been astonishing. His career spans over 15 commercial releases, countless collaborations and thousands of performances.
