"... beautifully written and warmly performed … What he calls influences and styles are really his own colors on his sonic palette. He chooses his colorful tones and approaches extremely well and keeps the hues and tones completely original."
~ Travis Rogers, JazzTimes

Having taken the Toronto jazz scene by storm, jazz guitarist extraordinaire Galen Weston is now set to conquer the United States with a ten-day March tour as a quartet in support of his ambitious and highly acclaimed debut album, Plugged In. American audiences can expect from Weston a live show that Jazz Weekly praises for his ability to "tap into his inner Jeff Beck and Jimi Hendrix."

Described by New Canadian Music as a "very skilled jazz-rock guitarist and versatile composer, " Weston's all-instrumental Plugged In features ten originals by Weston and arrangements of Keith Jarrett's "Country" and Jimmy Van Huesen's "Like Someone in Love." More information on Weston is available on his official website.

According to Weston, Plugged In represents a "sonic exploration with my Yellow Stratocaster, ES-335, and other instruments on a two-year journey of writing and recording across a vast musical territory."

Accompanying Weston on tour will be Lukas Kytnar (bass), Michel Medrano (drums) and Danny Lerman (saxophone).

Fueled by the inspiration of his favorite jazz and instrumental rock influences, Plugged In is the product of countless hours spent taming the howling of vintage Big Muffs, cleaning tape heads on old echo machines, and tweaking the tone knobs on Weston's classic Marshall and Fender amps.

Weston, who has also received glowing reviews from Downbeat Magazine and The Midwest Record, is accompanied by veteran Toronto session players David Woodhead on fretless electric bass, Al Cross on drums, Richard Underhill on alto sax, Rick Lazar on percussion, and keyboardist Matt Horner.
