Guitarist Dave Stryker and alto saxophonist Steve Slagle have collaborated together since the 1980's.

Together with Downbeat Rising Star winner Jared Gold on organ and drummer Jesse Cahill (Vancouver) and Jamie Cooper (Edmonton) they will be bringing their burning New York sound to Canada. Dave's latest CD's Messin' with Mister T and Eight Track II received 4 1/2 Stars in Downbeat and stayed in the Top 5 of the JazzWeek Radio Chart for over 8 weeks with Messin' with Mister T reaching #1.

Steve's latest CD Alto Manhattan is up to #5 and garnering great reviews. Together they recently released Routes which made Downbeats Top CDs of 2016 list. Dave spent over 13 years with Stanley Turrentine and also worked with Jack McDuff and Kevin Mahogany. He has 27 CD's out as a leader, (many featuring Slagle), and has been a sideman on over 100 others. Stryker has been voted one of the Top Jazz Guitarists for the last several years in the Downbeat Critics and Readers Polls. Gary Giddins in the Village Voice calls Dave "one of the most distinctive guitarists to come along in recent years."

Steve Slagle has worked with Jack McDuff, Carla Bley, Steve Kuhn, Charlie Haden, Joe Lovano and many others and was musical director of the Mingus Big Band for many years.

"Slagle ranks in the upper echelon of alto sax players on the scene today." JazzTimes
