Performing Music from "The Evolution Suite" plus other Sussman Originals & Jazz Standards!

Long acknowledged as an accomplished and innovative jazz pianist, arranger, composer, and educator, with a long list of credits, Nyack resident and president of the Rockland County Jazz & Blues Society, Richard Sussman has been passionately exploring the inner and outer frontiers of contemporary musical expression throughout his entire career. His ground-breaking "Evolution Suite" for Jazz Quintet, String Quartet, and Electronics, was funded by a Chamber Music America New Jazz Works Grant, and had its World Premier right here at the Union Arts Center on Dec. 20, 2015. It's now available on CD and for Digital Download on Zoho Records. This performance presents special arrangements of "The Evolution Suite" for Sussman's core quintet, plus special guest Zach Brock-vln, featuring some of the finest jazz improvisers on the planet.
