Sandro Albert Trio at Bar Next Door

The Sandro Albert Trio will be performing at Bar Next Door on Thursday, August 11, (8:30 and 10:30pm) in Greenwich Village, where they will be performing material of the upcoming CD "Encounters" a counterpoint journey, when Brazilian music meets Jazz and Classical. Sandro Albert, guitar; Michael O'Brien, bass and Rogerio Boccato, drums.

This release from the guitarist/composer Sandro Albert solidifies his great love for Jazz, Brazilian with a salute to his Classical music upbringing.

A music child of the seventies, Sandro is at home with the entire spectrum of American rhythms from Funk, R&B, to Jazz and Blues, growing up musically as a studio and touring musician in L.A. with musicians such as Milton Nascimento, Airto, Kenny Garrett, Peter Erskine, Jimmy Haslip, Russell Ferrante, Dionne Warwick, Patty Austin, WAR, and many others. Musically to Sandro, New York represents his maturity as a player, composer, arranger and producer.

Sandro is in very good company with Michael O'Brien, the gifted bass artist who has graced many upper echelon Jazz releases in New York by artists such as Harry Conick Jr, Ruben Blades, Luba Mason and others. Michael also tours with his own trio and as a sideman .

The name Rogerio Bocatto rings a bell in the Jazz/Brazilian genres in New York where he chose to be his musical home. A native of São Paulo, Brazil, Rogerio has his fingers in the pulse of any percussion or drumming instrument ever made, being an intrinsical part of many recordings and live performances by artists as Maria Schneider Orchestra, Danilo Perez, John Patitucci, Dory Caymmi and others.

Together and separately their musical journeys represent one of the great reasons New York still has its magnetic force... to attract these great talents and put them together in a musical room as The BarNextDoor, in the Village.
