MR. GONE headlines this year's Nyack Jazz Week with special guest legendary trumpeter & Herbie Hancock alumni EDDIE HENDERSON at the Hudson House in Nyack NY on Saturday July 30th.

Trumpeter Eddie Henderson is one of today's top and most original jazz trumpet players. Henderson first received worldwide recognition for the popular recordings he made with Herbie Hancock's Mwandishi group during the early '70s. Since then Eddie has played with such diverse artists as Pharoah Sanders, Art Blakey, Elvin Jones, Johnny Griffin, Slide Hampton, McCoy Tyner, Benny Golson, Max Roach, Jackie McClean, Dexter Gordon, Roy Haynes, Joe Henderson and many more. This is a rare opportunity to hear this music being played by one of it's original creators.

The performance takes place on Saturday July 30th; two sets, 8 & 10 pm. Tickets are $30 General admission, $25 for RCJBS members & $20 for students. Tickets purchased online receive a $5 discount.

Nyack Jazz Week is in it's 8th year, and is sponsored by the Rockland County Jazz & Blues Society.

An electric 4 piece ensemble, MR. GONE explores the experimental groove-based music of early electric jazz (fusion), focusing on the groundbreaking music of Weather Report and Herbie Hancock's Headhunters & Mwandishi bands, as well as original compositions. Referencing the post-Miles Davis origins of the jam band movement, they connect the past with the future, opening a window on the historical significance and influence of this music.

Mr Gone is comprised of Peter Furlan (saxes - Terumasa Hino, Dizzy Gillespie, 10, 000 Maniacs) Neil Alexander (keyboards - Tony "Thunder" Smith, The Mahavishnu Project, Gunther Hampel, The Machine), Ratzo Harris (basses - Joe Henderson, Kenny Werner, Mose Allison) and Richie Morales (drums - Spyro Gyra, The Brecker Brothers, Mike Stern).
