Country Outlaw Elizabeth Cook's First Album in Six Year- 'Exodus of Venus'

Bold and brilliant singer-songwriter Elizabeth Cook returns with 'Exodus Of Venus' today, her first album since 2010. The new record is a cathartic, defiant response to tumultuous times in her life, overcoming deaths, a divorce and personal hardships. Elizabeth is profiled in today's Wall Street Journal, who describe the record as "an eclectic mix of old-school country, honky-tonk, gospel and rockabilly." NPR's Weekend All Things Considered will run a segment on Elizabeth and the new record soon, and there is an upcoming feature in the Tennessean. Elizabeth just taped a special album release concert for a live audience at the SiriusXM Music City Theatre in Nashville, and it will air on the Outlaw Country channel multiple times this weekend, starting at 2PM ET today. Elizabeth's United States tour is fully underway, and will continue through the summer and beyond. A full list of dates is below.

Despite the six years between albums, Cook remains a fixture of Nashville's singer-songwriter circles. She's performed at the Grand Ole Opry over four hundred times, hosts her own Sirius XM show on the Outlaw Country station and has worked with everyone from Jason Isbell to Steve Earle to John Prine. NPR Music deemed Elizabeth a "treasure" of the Americana scene and the knife-sharp new record appeared on Rolling Stone Country's most anticipated albums of 2016 list.

Elizabeth's album release concert will air on Sirius XM's Outlaw Country (channel 60) at the following times this weekend:

Friday 6/17: 2PM ET and 7PM ET
