Roger Kellaway returns to
Jazz At Kitano - April 1 & 2
With Special Guest:
Ludovic Beier, Accordion & Accordina

Plus a Tribute to
Ettore Stratta's Original Music

After a very successful weekend at KITANO this past summer, JAZZ PIANIST ROGER KELLAWAY returns with his Trio, Jay Leonhart on Bass and Joe Cohn on guitar. Ludovic Beier, part of the very successful Django Reinhardt Festival, will step in as a Special Guest. Integrated into the program will be a TRIBUTE to Producer/Conductor/Composer, Ettore Stratta, including some of his original music.

Roger Kellaway, the Grammy award winner and Academy Award nominated composer has worked with a who's who of the music world: Elvis to Ellington, Joni Mitchell, Dizzy Gillespie, Henry Mancini, Lena Horne, Carmen McRae, Natalie Cole, Barbra Streisand, and Michael Tilson Thomas to name a few. He was Music Director for Bobby Darin, Kevin Spacey, Van Morrison and Tony Bennett.

Roger's list of accomplishments goes on—including 29 film scores. His score for Streisand's "A Star Is Born', garnered his Oscar nomination. Mr. Kellaway also happens to be one of those rare artists who can cross over from jazz to classical. He's composed orchestral pieces for the Los Angeles Philharmonic, the National Symphony, the New American Orchestra, the New York Philharmonic, as well as a ballet for George Balanchine and the New York City Ballet. The Philly Pops, The Boston Pops and The New West Symphony performed "Visions of America", a 50 minute multimedia show for full orchestra, featuring Kellaway on "Jazz piano", five songs with lyrics by the brilliant Alan & Marilyn Bergman, sung by Patti Austin & Steve Tyrell, plus chorus and narration by Clint Eastwood.

Roger's Kellaway's composition "Come to the Meadow" from his well-known Cello Quartet crossover/chamber jazz series was the NPR theme for "Selected Shorts" for 23 years. "Many Moods of McCartney", a three-movement concert piece for two pianos, bass and drums utilizing ten McCartney masterpieces, received a standing ovation when Kellaway & Dutch jazz pianist, Peter Beets performed as guest artists with the Ashville Symphony in fall 2014.
Recent awards - the Prix du Jazz Classique (the French "Grammy") for Roger's Jazz CD "Heroes" and the 2014 Grand Prix du Jazz (Record Of The Year) for "Duke At The Roadhouse " with Eddie Daniels, both on the IPO Jazz label, sparked his interest to perform more live concerts, including a continuous one-hour-forty minute solo Jazz piano concert that took place on November 29th 2015 at Teatro Manzoni in Milan.

Please join us for an evening of unforgettable music!
