Pre-registration rate for Jazz Connect Conference extended until December 22!

Because of the large demand, pre-registration for the Jazz Connect Conference has been extended until Tuesday, December 22. Up to that date, the pre-registration rate is only $125, with additional discounts for members of various organizations, such as APAP, ASCAP, BMI, Chamber Music America, Jazz Journalists Association, JazzWeek, SESAC, Local 802 and several others.

Held on January 14-15, 2016 at Saint Peter's Church in New York City, the conference brings together members of the jazz community from all over the globe in a series of panels, workshops and events. With a theme of "Fresh Horizons, " Jazz Connect leads into both the APAP|NYC conference, which begins on that Friday, and Winter Jazzfest, which takes place on Friday and Saturday nights.

The schedule includes sessions on topics such as social media, presenting, radio airplay, media coverage, booking opportunities, audience development, music streaming services, music licensing and many other practical areas. Panelists include both artists (including Christian McBride, Randy Brecker, Mike Stern, Marc Cary, Keyon Harrold, Robert Glasper and Maria Schneider) and industry professionals (including Ariel Hyatt, Willard Jenkins, Gail Boyd, Scott Southard, Howard Mandel, Dick Huey, Brad Stone, James Donio, Ashley Kahn, Roseanna Vitro, Wulf Muller and Robert Todd). See the schedule here. The conference will also feature several special events, including mixer sponsored by NPR Music, a screening of the "Jaco" documentary presented by the National Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences and a performance & "wrap party" sponsored by The Royal Norwegian Consulate General.

There are also a few table-top displays still available. To register or receive more information, go to the Jazz Connect Conference website. Conference hotline is (617) 315-9158.
