KARL BERGER IMPROVISERS ENSEMBLE RESIDENCY:
Featuring Ingrid Sertso/Vocals, Tani Tabbal/Drums and a variety of nationally and internationally active players living in the Hudson Valley. Check our listings! We'll add more info about each week's line-up of artists.
The Workshop/Performance ensemble is conducted by Karl Berger in the fashion of the KB Improvisers Orchestra. The music is based on brief composed lines (by Karl Berger, Ornette Coleman, Don Cherry and others) and on the improvised contributions of each player.

WEDNESDAY 11.04

CLAUDIA ACUNA with SAMORA PINDERHUGHES:
Tonight features Claudia Acuña/Voice, Samora Pinderhughes/Piano, Juancho Herrera/Guitar, John Benitez/Bass and Yayo Serka/Drums
Chilean, CLAUDIA ACUÑA possesses one of the most beautiful and compelling voices in jazz. Singing primarily in Spanish, her music crosses language barriers to communicate with power and deep feeling.
Twenty-two-year-old pianist and composer, Samora Pinderhughes, began his studies in Venezuelan and Cuban percussion. By age fifteen, he had arranged and recorded two albums (Catch 22 and Live at Yoshi's) and received commissions to develop works performed at the Caramoor and Moab Music Festivals.

JOHN ABERCROMBIE / ROB SCHEPS 4TET:
Featuring John Abercrombie/Guitar, Rob Scheps/Saxophones, David Kingsnorth/Bass and Eliot Zigmund/Drums
Over a career spanning more than 40 years and nearly 50 albums, John Abercrombie has established himself as one the masters of jazz guitar and a restless experimenter.
Rob Scheps led his own groups in the Boston area; notably the True Colors Big Band. In New York, formed the Rob Scheps Core-tet and Bartokking Heads and established himself as a formidable force on the jazz scene.

THANA ALEXA PROJECT:
Featuring Ben Flocks/Tenor Sax, Eden Ladin/Piano, Noam Wiesenberg/Bass, Peter Kronreif/Drums
Since dedicating herself to music, Alexa has performed and recorded with Antonio Sanchez on his album New Life and his upcoming album The Meridian Suite – performances have included Red Sea Jazz Festival and Montreal Jazz Festival – with legendary drummer Bernard "Pretty" Purdie and two albums with guitarist Gene Ess.

WOLFF & CLARK EXPEDITION:
A musician's musician, Michael Wolff has earned his reputation as an original pianist and composer who creates his own harmonic world in his improvisations while never losing sight of the groove.
A true ambassador of rhythm, Mike Clark is known around the world for his diverse and innovative playing. He brings that spark to whatever genre- blues, funk post bop-he encounters, ignites a fire, and fans the flames.
