Megumi Habuka released her single "Call Unable to Reach"

Being or trying to be a Jazz musician in NYC could be one of the top royalties in the field, I really suppose. Playing Jazz in front of dressed up people either in the weekdays or weekend's city-lights. In a way I was really surprised first time I listened to her new single track "Call, Unable to Reach" off upcoming her new material, because I asked to write this review from herself who is a singer but this track is technically an instrumental tune and composition by herself.

R&B and Funk beaty bass and drum'n intro opens up the tune and secondly her chorus voicing appeals beautifully into the most catchiness groove of the song. However, other than that, it's completely a Jazz song which is conflicting to draw her certain imagination between her not-so-much-singing and musically and artistically deep emotional inspiration. And it keeps up jamming around between her folks each other who are mostly from her musical career and friendships since she came in the states.

I haven't even asked her why this song is called "Call, Unable to Reach" and it's instrumental tune to be the first single off her new record although she's a singer. It could be a tricky and risky approach in that way when you release your leader record as one of those Jazz instrumentalists and musician especially you're a singer and fronting a band. But she does. One of the reasons why she'd do this I could guess from an interview meeting on the last Saturday was "I love teaching voicing, so I established a music teaching company in NYC" she said. Accordingly I guess she doesn't care much of being a Jazz singer but loves music itself. That's my favorite type of purity in music field. (**You can review her biography in her website: )

She has released her debut 4-song EP "Perfect" back in 2012 and it's been three years and more to release her following/sophomore EP in this year. This track is off the EP and furthermore she will release her debut album in the early 2016. I could ask about those future releases of hers from herself to know more about her characteristic face on her music, even I have never known much enough yet. She confesses herself "I'm lazy as an artist...haha, " which still represents where her music stands over her personality and roots, at least to me. Because while she's been into that laziness she surfaces concentratedly her inner and will be able to put out it to outer. So it'll comes seasons she will reveal her stories with her own voices. That's the most exciting term over the artist's harvest for us, right? At least, from NYC, I am excited and waiting for the callings up.
