SKETCHY BLACK DOG plays unique jazz spins of Bowie, Zeppelin, Hendrix, and more. Taking timeless rock songs and originals to places both irreverent and fragile, this piano trio with strings violates and whispers in the ears of its audience.

SKETCHY BLACK DOG is the brainchild of pianist, Misha Piatigorsky, and drummer, Chris Wabich. Wabich has worked with the Zappa family, Sting, Stanley Jordan, Leonard Cohen, and Ludacris. Russian-born and NY based Piatigorsky is the winner of the Thelonious Monk Composers Competition, is music director for jazz legend Mark Murphy and has appeared with Wynton Marsalis, Claudio Roditi, and Michael Brecker.

SUNDAY 10.25

Spirit-taught, avant-garde jazz virtuoso and extreme guitarist, Muñoz is best known for his uniquely original guitar sound and playing style, likened to that of a spiritual tornado. His career, spanning over four decades, includes a vast repertoire of creative works and inspired compositions released by his independent label, Anami Music.

John Medeski, of the genre-defying trio Medeski Martin & Wood, has broken out of the traditional jazz sphere and have shared the bill with groups such as The Roots, Beck, A Tribe Called Quest, Ray Charles, Hermento Pascoal, and Phish, frequently appearing in venues unavailable to most jazz artists.

FRIDAY 10.30

Dutch vocalist, Fleurine, delivers an impressive international resume, transforming pop into jazz, exploring Cuban & Brazilian music and creating lyrics for the music of Joshua Redmond and Thelonious Monk. Fleurine and husband, Brad Mehldau collaborate frequently.
