Now is the time to register for the Jazz Connect Conference in NYC

The Jazz Connect Conference, organized by JazzTimes and the Jazz Forward Coalition, will be held January 14-15, 2016 at Saint Peter's Church in New York City and will lead into the annual APAP (Association of Performing Arts Presenters) Conference as well as Winter Jazzfest. Now in its fourth year, the conference will continue to focus on vital issues affecting the jazz community, with a theme of "Fresh Horizons."

Early Bird Registration is only $95 until September 15, with additional discounts offered to members of various organizations, such as APAP, JJA, JazzWeek, SESAC, ASCAP and CMA.

Panel and workshop topics include: social media, jazz in the mainstream media, booking & touring strategies, streaming and downloading issues, the role of education for artists & organizations, jazz in Cuba and many other engaging subjects. The lineup of moderators, panelists and speakers will include an impressive cross-section of artists and professionals from around the world. In addition, the Conference has left a time slot open for a "Community Choice" panel. If you have a topic that you think would be interesting to the jazz community, email it to jazzconnectnyc@gmail.com by October 15 and put "Community Choice" in the subject line.

The always popular Ask the Experts session, created and organized by Jana LaSorte, returns to offer registrants the opportunity to meet face-to-face with influential and experienced industry leaders for helpful professional counsel. Conducted speed-dating style, this session enables jazz artists and professionals to share ideas and resources and also get informed feedback on their own work.

To pre-register for the conference, go to the event page.

The exhibit area returns with a limited number of table-top displays in the foyer of the church throughout the conference. To reserve a table-top display or to advertise in the Conference program with JazzTimes, contact Miene Smith at 617-706-9092 or msmith@madavor.com.

The DoubleTree Metropolitan Hotel at 51st & Lexington Avenue is offering a special discounted rate to Jazz Connect attendees. The rates are only $129 for a queen bed and $149 for two double beds. To reserve a room there, call 1-800-222-8733 and reference the Jazz Connect Conference room block or group code "JCC."
