Trombonist Albert Mangelsdorff was a major innovator, one of only a few Europeans who has had an influence on jazz instrumentalists worldwide. He refined multiphonics, a technique utilizing vocalizing into the horn to produce chords and overtone effects. Often performing as a soloist, he also played/recorded with Elvin Jones, John Lewis, Wolfgang Dauner, and Lee Konitz. Trilogue, Live in Montreux, and Triple Entente are all played in trio with Albert's amazing technique and multiphonics in full display.

Albert Mangelsdorff, Jaco Pastorius, Alphonse Mouzon - Triloque - Live!
Legendary Weather Report electric bassist Jaco Pastorius and quintessential jazz-fusion drummer Alphonse Mouzon join Mangelsdorff at the 1976 Berlin Jazz Days for a combustion of creativity.

Albert Mangelsdorff - Albert Live In Montreux
The Atlanta Journal hailed his playing as "unparalleled…a major cultural event", and Downbeat crowned Albert Mangelsdorff "a true master". Albert has chosen the perfect partners for musical exploration on this 1980 live recording. Drummer Ronald Shannon Jackson's work with Ornette Coleman's Prime Time, Cecil Taylor, and James "Blood" Ulmer place him at the head of the jazz and fusion avant-garde. Bassist J. F. Jenny-Clarke's work with Gato Barbieri, Don Cherry, and Steve Lacy indicate why he was one of the most important bassists coming out of Europe.

Albert Mangelsdorff - Triple Entente
This 1980 studio recording features three players with sublime mutual understanding. Bassist Leon Francioli is known for his work with the noted pianist-composer George Gruntz and American multi-instrumentalist Joe McPhee. Drummer Pierre Favre spent time with a list of international stars, including Mal Waldron and Manfred Schoof.

Albert Mangelsdorff, Jiggs Whigham, Ake Persson, Slide Hampton - Trombone Workshop
Recorded live at the 1971 Zurich Jazz Festival, the album features four of the best trombonists in modern jazz and a stellar rhythm section to back them up.

Alphonse Mouzon - Virtue
One of the master drummers of the fusion scene, Alphonze Mouzon has cast the perfect crew for this 1976 venture. Miles Davis and McCoy Tyner alumni saxophonist Gary Bartz adds fire and depth; electric bassist Welton Gite, who played with Marvin Gaye, Luther Vandross, and Sister Sledge, takes care of the funk, and Keyboardist Stu Goldberg shows up with impeccable jazz credentials.
